Advanced, Minimally Invasive Varicose Vein Treatments

We focus on safe, reliable, and minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins that can be performed on an outpatient (same-day surgery) basis. These include:

  • Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) - An advanced, minimally invasive laser treatment for varicose veins, performed under local anesthesia with immediate post-procedure walking.
  • Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) - A thermal ablation technique that uses radiofrequency energy to safely and effectively close diseased veins.
  • Tokyo Vein Clinic Method (TVC Method)- Our proprietary, evidence-based technique that combines EVLA or RFA with targeted branch vein ablation.
This method treats bulging branch veins from the inside with minimal skin incisions, helping to optimize long-term results and cosmetic outcomes.
  • Endovenous cyanoacrylate closure (CAC), also known as “glue closure” therapy- A non-thermal endovenous treatment that closes the vein using a medical adhesive (NBCA), now covered by the Japanese National Health Insurance.
  • Sclerotherapy- An injection-based treatment for varicose, branch, reticular, and spider veins (telangiectasia), using a safe sclerosant to close affected veins.
  • All of the above treatments are covered by the Japanese National Health Insurance.
In addition, we offer laser therapy as a private (self-pay) option for very small spider veins (telangiectasia) that are not typically covered by insurance.
All procedures are performed under local anesthesia, allowing patients to walk immediately after treatment without hospitalization.
We carefully select only those techniques supported by objective clinical data and evidence-based medicine (EBM), and we do not offer experimental or questionable treatments.

    Treatment Philosophy

    Message from the Director
I am Keisuke Kondoh, Director of Tokyo Vein Clinic. After working in the Department of Surgery at a university hospital, I specialized in vascular surgery, gaining extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgery of conditions such as aneurysms, arterial occlusive disease, and varicose veins of the lower limbs.
In November 2008, to provide tailor-made treatment that responds to each patient’s individual needs, I established Tokyo Vein Clinic and the Lower Extremity Varicose Vein Day Surgery Center in Higashi-Ikebukuro, just a short walk from Ikebukuro Station.
Our name, Tokyo Vein Clinic, reflects our commitment to being a specialized center for venous treatment, especially varicose veins of the lower limbs.

Our goal is to provide safe, low-impact treatments that meet the needs and preferences of each patient in modern healthcare.

Improving Quality of Life Through Varicose Vein Treatment
In recent years, improving quality of life (QOL) has become an important focus in medicine.
Varicose veins are more than just a cosmetic issue - they can affect daily comfort, mobility, and overall health.
At Tokyo Vein Clinic, we aim to help our patients lead healthier, more active lives by:

  • Proposing new, appropriate treatment options
  • Providing preventive, vein-focused medical care
  • Supporting early detection and prevention of disease
  • Working together with patients as partners in long-term self-care

  • Our philosophy is supported by many vascular and general surgeons, including experts from the University of Tokyo, who share these values and participate in patient care at our clinic.
Through this collaboration, we are able to provide highly specialized vascular surgery services that we are proud to offer.

    Expanding Into Orthopedic Regenerative Medicine
As we continue to care for patients with leg symptoms, we have seen many people suffering from knee pain.
With the desire to help such patients more comprehensively, we welcomed an orthopedic specialist in 2024 and began offering regenerative treatments for knee osteoarthritis, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.

Just as in vascular surgery, orthopedic specialists who share our philosophy have joined us, allowing us to offer specialized, high-level care in orthopedics as well.
